Bella Vista Hotel, Corfu is an experience - it is the experience of being in Greece, being in a Corfu hotel near the beach, being under the sun in crystal clear waters in a safe environment. It is the experience of meeting the locals of Corfu and discovering local Corfu culture .

Anthea - Anthea worked as a hotel manager and hotel management consultant in London for 14 years before returning in May 2003 to her native Benitses to manage the family-owned Bella Vista Hotel. A graduate of Patras University in Greece, she also earned an MSc degree from the University of Surrey and an MBA degree from Oxford University during her time in England. Her qualifications and experience ensure the Bella Vista Hotel in Corfu is able to offer the highest standards of service expected by international travelers.

Photoula, Stella, Georgia, Sia- Photoula is the heart and soul of housekeeping at our Corfu hotel. Photoula the 'Girl Friday' (as a guest called her). The 'girl' for everything. From hotel housekeeping, to painting, maintaining, building!!! And cooking the Bella Breakfast pies and cakes together with Sia. We couldn't do it without her! Stella and Georgia, the two sisters, are the housekeepers of Bella Vista Hotel and Bella Studios as well. They can help everywhere! From excellent housekeeping to breakfast and many other things! A gem for the business!

Joanna, Christina, Thanasis, Athina etc - Joanna and Christina were happily raised on Corfu in the town of Benitses. Being the daughters of Agatha, one of the 3 children of John and Frida Poulis. Christina and Joanna, like all kids, loved Benitses, Corfu, the hotel and the fun of working at our Corfu hotel. It was a part of their happy time in their childhood. Each part of the Bella Vista revives a happy childhood memory. In their younger days Joanna and Christina studied tourism management at the University of Heraklion in Crete. During school breaks in the summers they provide a helping hand of assistance at the hotel. Thanasis assists in the hotel reception and all sort of maintenance and assistance everywhere in the hotel. Athina, our evening shift, has concretely stood by Anthea and helped out wherever needed or asked to.

Takis Dimitropoulos has been the most attentive, professional and excellent contractor the Bella Vista Hotel could have wished to do the renovation work. His professionalism, attention to detail, knowledge and expertise resulted to Bella Vista's renewed face. After discussion and listening to Anthea's ideas captured the essence of Anthea's vision on how the Bella Vista Hotel, Corfu should be revamped for the new millennium!!!

Roula Stayed in Corfu at our hotel in the summer of 2005 as a guest and is responsible for the wonderful door paintings, a feature of the Hotel begun by Eva and finnished, after Roula, by Toma (Internship student). But Roula took over like a storm due to her love and passion for painting - we are proud to have her first work painted on our doors! Roula, thank you!

A brief history

Our story starts in 1975 when John and Frida Poulis noticed the business opportunities of tourism in Corfu and decided to give up the house garden and build a hotel around the family summer beach home in the booming tourism village of Benitses, Corfu.

The hotel opened for business at the beginning of the 1980s tourist boom as the area was flooded by the 'typical' British mass tourist operators. The hotel was a family business run by Frida Poulis with the assistance of her husband John and elder son George. The rest of the family helping when they could. When Frida and John retired, the Corfu hotel was rented out to a local business.

In 2003 the youngest daughter of the family, Anthea, decided to return to her roots in Corfu. The hotel benefited from an extensive renovation and upgrade program bringing it up to the highest standards. Now, the rest of the story is to be continued...
